Sooner and later you all will grow tired of me talking about the best web hosting companies around. Until that day comes I will continue pushing web hosting review companies such as the latest that I’ve found Top10WebHosting.com a very well laid out, well informed, reputable source for finding the best web hosting company for your needs. They’ve got a number of the top web hosting companies scrutinized, and analyzed so that all you have to do is pick the one that is right for you!
You guys know that with my now 22 sites that I run (and growing at least on a monthly basis if not daily) it’s important that I have über reliable service when it comes to web hosting! Especially with recently moving to a new dual core 2.2ghz, 2 gigs RAM, 250GB raid 1 hdd I’ve spent a LOT and I mean a lot of time on web hosting review sites, and on hosting forums. Yeah, it’s important to get a good price, but that’s the least of my concerns if I can’t get reliable service, well reliable and powerful service. This silly blog gets nearly 600 people a day to it so it’s necessary that I get as much bandwidth as possible, since this site is just a personal blog, and my other sites have a much higher audience as they’re my money making sites!
Make sure that when you’re looking for a new hosting plan you do your homework and look at several web hosting rating sites. I’ve looked over webhostinggeeks.com and like the format a lot, it’s nice to hear back from other customers on issues. I was on the Yahoo Review page, and noticed that many other customers have had a very similar experience to what I had… which is good because since Yahoo! switched to an unlimited plan I almost considered using them again like I had 6 years ago… I can honestly say I’m pretty glad I hadn’t… wouldn’t of known though without sites like webhostinggeeks.com
Even if you don’t need a website you still need webhosting if you plan on running a server be it Counter-Strike or Call of Duty. Make sure you know everything possible about your web host before you purchase your plan. Especially in today’s economy, you don’t want to waste money on something that isn’t valuable to you!
People can say what they want about different hosting companies, and in all honesty most of them are the same in the complaints people give. You pay $15 a month, and complain when your site gets shut down for using too much processor… well, let’s face it, it’s time for an upgrade. I’ve never really been coming close to my limits with any packages that I’ve been using, but getting up there close to 20 websites it was about time that I started to upgrade things. I decided to skip over the virtual server environment since if I ever did come to my limits with that it’d be not long before I needed to set up a whole new server and reconfigure everything again… not something I wanted to bother with. So I made sure things were good and got a dual core 2.2ghz AMD system with 2 gigs of RAM, guaranteed 100mbit connection, and a 250gb hard drive… also 8 IP addresses so I can segment up the sites that I put onto it and not worry about link spamming the search engines
I got the server from 1and1 because quite honestly I’ve never had troubles with them. Yeah, I’ve heard a lot from some people about their service, all of them were using shared hosting, and way over-stretching what they were doing. I’ve used several other hosting services and honestly 1and1 is the best I could find. Something that I could see as an annoyance for many beginners would be that they tend to leave you out on your own. Part of the reason they can afford to be so cheap on their prices is because they don’t have a huge staff of technical people on hand… and quite honestly that’s never been a problem for me. I kind of like being left alone with my websites so I can do what I want. They charge the stupid fee for people who want things done for them on extra things like blogs and shopping carts, but honestly if you have a little time you can set up all those things for yourself and not worry about it.
