So I was trying to get on Combat Arms, because I’ve not been on there for some time, and don’t want all my weapons to get completely taken out of my arsenal before I run out of money… yeah, didn’t work out so well.В I don’t know if they are performing maintenance right now, or what (since I’ve not been in for over a week haven’t seen any releases of updates or anything) but I couldn’t connect to the update server so now the game won’t even start for me.
Combat Arms was a fun game while it lasted, but I am thinking it’s just about dead to me.В I loved the carreer money vs. money per round like in CS:S, and gameplay was fun… it’s just once the hackers started piling in the game really lost it’s appeal.В It got to the point to where you just couldn’t play anything other than games where you constantly respawn because all the other more challenging game types would be full of hackers.В Not like, kind of sort of possibly using AIM Bots kind of script kiddies, but the really obvious and annoying script kiddies that would have speed increases, AIM Bots, no-gravity jumping, auto-fire, and invulnerability… I don’t even see how the game is fun for them.В Oh yay I got a huge kill score and haven’t killed a single person yet!В Just don’t see the appeal of it… who cares if you’ve got lots of money if you didn’t earn a dime of it?

You guys know that with my now 22 sites that I run (and growing at least on a monthly basis if not daily) it’s important that I have Гјber reliable service when it comes to web hosting! Especially with recently moving to a new dual core 2.2ghz, 2 gigs RAM, 250GB raid 1 hdd I’ve spent a LOT and I mean a lot of time on web hosting review sites, and on hosting forums. Yeah, it’s important to get a good price, but that’s the least of my concerns if I can’t get reliable service, well reliable and powerful service. This silly blog gets nearly 600 people a day to it so it’s necessary that I get as much bandwidth as possible, since this site is just a personal blog, and my other sites have a much higher audience as they’re my money making sites!
Make sure that when you’re looking for a new hosting plan you do your homework and look at several web hosting rating sites. I’ve looked over webhostinggeeks.com and like the format a lot, it’s nice to hear back from other customers on issues. I was on the Yahoo Review page, and noticed that many other customers have had a very similar experience to what I had… which is good because since Yahoo! switched to an unlimited plan I almost considered using them again like I had 6 years ago… I can honestly say I’m pretty glad I hadn’t… wouldn’t of known though without sites like webhostinggeeks.com
Even if you don’t need a website you still need webhosting if you plan on running a server be it Counter-Strike or Call of Duty. Make sure you know everything possible about your web host before you purchase your plan. Especially in today’s economy, you don’t want to waste money on something that isn’t valuable to you!

I have seen so many ads lately for this new “Combat Arms” online that I just had to try it. Since it’s free I mean why not? I especially have seen a lot since I’ve been doing the flash games project for MTV it’s just strewn all over the internet when you’re on free online game sites. I was slightly confused at first what Combat Arms was since it said it was an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) but the clips all looked like a FPS (First Person Shooter) game. This combination only added to my curiosity, another reason for downloading the game. I figured that the “free” was a trial basis and after a certain period of time you’d be paying for your game play… which was fine by me, if it was good I’d end up buying it, if it was only moderately fun at the end of the trial I’d have had fun but not need to buy it, and if it really sucked I could just uninstall it. None of these options are necessary since Nexon the company that made and supports Combat Arms doesn’t charge anything for any of their games… ever.
I’ve gotten pretty addicted to the game as the MMO part comes in more of a career than anything. With every match you earn experience, and money. The more experience you have the better weapons you can buy (though most are available to you from the start a few are restricted). And of course the more money you have the better weapons you can get your hands on. You buy weapons armor, and other combat gear in number of days, unlike with Counter-Strike: Source where you buy equipment each round.
There is one thing that I do have a huge complaint about in Combat Arms.В And that is the hackers.В Yes every game has it’s exploiters, cheaters, and hackers.В Most of the time though it is bearable.В You either have games like America’s Army where there is an UBER strict anti-cheat program protecting it (I’ve even been accused of cheating and I suck compared to most people).В Or you have games where you can find good servers such as CS:S where I only really play on two or three different servers that have very loyal groups of people on them and will kick cheaters at the first sign of hacks.В With Combat Arms there is no VoteKick or VoteBan option… so cheaters have free reign.В The only way to report them is on their forums, and from what I’ve heard all they do is clear you stats, wipe you money and kills… so there really is no incentive for people to not cheat.
