Okay boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen… the time you have all been waiting for has arrived!В  Or at least the time I have been waiting for has arrived!В  haha, so the poll I took to find out what people would react to better (log in system, or no log in system) won for no log in on ApplyMyWay.com by an 8 to 2 vote.В  I know my sample audience wasn’t terribly large with only 10 people… but I can’t say I didn’t try.

I started over on the MySQL database, and got it to the point that everything should work.

Here’s the plan for the structure of the site:

  • Main page – categories for applications – questions – add application
  • categories – applications list
  • applications – questions – comments – results

The way I invision things working is people come to the site, make an application, add questions (unlimited number of questions, whatever you want with short answer format).В  At the end of the app process they get a “share this” page (that will always be present) so that they can add the application to their favorite social networking sites.В  When people come to take an application they fill out the questions which are then stored on results pages which may or may not be public depending upon how the applicant decides to fill things out.В  The results are also emailed to the creator.В  People can comment on applications as well if they so desire.

I plan on having the site ready to launch as of Friday, October 17, 2008.В  No promises, but that is the plan *crosses fingers* it may not be pretty yet, but the site will be functional!

I can’t even list all the problems that I have been having with my server, but most of them have been figured out now! Not only am I on a more secure operating system now than I was previously, but I am also on one that allows me to do what I need to. Don’t ask me how a more secure server is also more functional… but it is.

After a LOT of server configuration work, and changing operating systems I’m on at least a functional server… which is nice! Things were just crazy before, I couldn’t send emails from the server. Which I had to fix, and it was a big spurred on thing for me since I’m trying to get ApplyMyWay launched, and without a login system verification emails are necessary. So I went to a Linux operating system that I’m more familiar with and hacked away at getting things running smoothly, and now they’re at least bearable. So on with the programing, and it’s about time to get things rollin’

Now the real task at hand is finding a way to raise $1,000 while planning for a wedding in December, and planning for a kid… to REALLY launch the site I’d need that kind of money for advertising… but hey, in the mean time I can always do the Content Domination stuff and pump out Social Networking things to get me to the top of the search engines… best I can do for now.

Hey everyone! Looking for a little bit of market research for a new site that I’m trying to launch called ApplyMyWay.com so if you could be so kind as to take the poll here:

http://poll.codysortore.com/

You would be awesome! The gist of it is would people actually use the site if they had to log in or create an account? Or is it best to stick to the proven tactics of no login, no account, just straight up quick and easy?

So I was just going over finances again… and realized that with a good steady income of P3 opportunities I could very possibly make $1,500 a month.В  Now no $1,500 a month is not like a killer living or anything… but when I’m only paying $200 a month rent, $200 a month for my hosting server, $110 a month for car insurance, and whatever else goes into gas we’ll say $190 to be safe.В  That’s still only $700 a month in expenses!В  Making at least $1,500 a month (plus maybe more since I’ll be getting archmailledesigns.com/blog/ approved for P3 here soon, along with a few other sites) Plus I make about $1.50 per day with various other forms of advertisements on my sites from everything like KCLANParty.org and what not else.

I am now in the process of creating a website www.ApplyMyWay.com which I actually planned and registered last year… it’s FINALLY becoming some sort of reality.В  The goal of the site is to allow people to create applications for anything… whether it be a small business that wants to be able to allow for people to apply to work for them online, or someone on MySpace that wants to screen people before adding them as friends and creates a “Be my friend” application.В  Whatever your hearts desire it can be created here.В  I expect once the site gets off the ground it will start making me a few bucks as well.В  So in about three months or so if everything goes as planned I should (key word being should) be able to hook myself up with RAID 5EE
