I think where most people get in trouble with their finances is with mis-interpreting loan calculations, especially interest. When you get a $5,000 loan with 10% interest you’d think you have $5,500 to pay back by the end… problem is most loans are not straight forward like that, you pay an APR (Annual Percentage Rate) which when broken down by month becomes very complicated to figure, it compounds, and changes every month in a manor that by the end of your $5,000 loan depending on the number of years it would take to pay it off you may end up paying back $12,500 or more! Luckily with the Sunrise Finance Loan Calculator it makes it easy to understand your loan payments. You can then figure out what you need to pay every month to get your loan paid down faster, how much you will owe in the end, or figure what your monthly payments on a particular loan may be. Loan calculations used to confuse me, but now I don’t have to fully understand the compounding interest, monthly interest rates on an APR loan, and all that other confusing stuff that goes along with modern loans.

When my wife and I purchased our home I made the mistake of trying to calculate loan payments by myself before I found the Sunrise Finance Loan Calculator. This turned out to be a huge mistake on my part. I figured in APR, but I didn’t divide it by months, and compound it each month, which made a huge difference in our loan payments. It meant that we had to get a home that was $40,000 less than we had originally anticipated that we could spend. It was a bit embarrassing when we were looking at homes in one price range, when we got the real loan calculations from the Sunrise Finance Loan Calculator to have to tell the sellers, and our real estate agent that we had been viewing homes in the wrong price range. The Sunrise Finance Loan Calculator helped us to fix this issue and we were set on our way to the right price range of homes and eventually found one that we liked with our newly discovered knowledge. It’s a good thing we found the Sunrise Finance Loan Calculator before we started signing paperwork, it sure saved us from a HUGE embarrassment that could have been.

I’ve been working on a new website project that I hope to allow CG artists come together to build game projects from all across the world. The gaming industry is one of the first to see the degradation of the corporate model, and I just figure it’s about time to perpetuate that into a collaborative future. Just take a look at the research I’ve been doing on the subject of degrading corporate models, coalitions, and collaboration online.

The corporate model, born in 1600 with the East India Company, is dying out. Don’t get me wrong, they’re fighting tooth and nail to try and legislate their way into relevance… you see big business needs big government to survive, and vice versa. Unfortunately for all of them, while they had a good 400+ year run, the next big thing is coming. With the internet and lessons we’ve learned from corporations everybody has the opportunity to be their own boss. Through collaboration efforts I’d be willing to bet that in the next 10-20 years we’ll start seeing everything from cars, to movies being produced on large scale by small independent home based businesses working through collaboration efforts across the country, and across the world.

What makes me think this? Well, the world is shifting towards collaborative efforts for proof just look to Torrents, eBay, Pinterest, Google AdWords, Etsy, Prosper, heck even the large corporate retail shops allow small independent contractors to sell through their sites (Amazon, NewEgg). It’s easier now for a person to make money from home than ever… and do so with creative designs. In the corporate model efficiency of design and building was key this next wave is going to be seen as a rebirth of creativity and art in the items we use daily. While most of these efforts are still very small independent groups of 1 or 2 people making a living off of one larger corporate site… that’s about to change. Once we establish a place for people to collaborate and work on their projects together for example in vehicular manufacturing from home it will need to be a conglomeration of engineers, tradesmen, financiers, etc. But we’ve already seen this established with some open source car designs that are being build… just small scale… once it goes larger scale we’ll start seeing the big government, big business model die out.

What my friends had to say:

Nah, too many people prefer to be employees. Stability beats opportunity.

My response:

There is only stability in corporatism because it has rooted itself in our lives over the last 400 years. When EIC was first established it had its hard times, many believed that the corporate world would never survive because it would be the death of creativity. Back then people lived and died on creativity, if you weren’t creative you were a beggar in the gutter. No one understood how you could increase value without creativity, except a few men who first pitched the multi-million dollar loan to the bank of England. After less than a year of operation they went back to a large central European bank for a bailout (once again worth millions of dollars, and over 400 years ago). EIC ended up successful in their endeavor to squeeze value out of time. On average the corporate world has managed to squeeze a 4% value increase out of their work force every year, compounding, for the last 400 years. Wal-Mart was the most successful at leveraging local governments (that gave them free land just to have the opportunity for them to build there), state governments (that often gave them 0 taxes for up to 10 years for building new stores), federal governments (both US and China that helped to subsidize their manufacture and shipping costs). The success of Wal-Mart forced other corporations to keep up, then the house of cards started to crumble in the late 90′s. It’s a little known story, but the corporate world has been slipping for nearly 15 years now… it’s why over 11,000 new pages of law are added to the books every year. Corporations are trying to keep themselves relevant with the forceful arm of their conglomerate (the government). However, the government is broke… so people have to go somewhere.

It is unlikely that any of us will see in our lifetime the full potential of collaborative efforts… There is a lot that must happen before we do.

I do agree with you most people just want to be told what to do. Before the corporate world we had the feudal lord system, both center around a few people telling large groups of people what to do. These small businesses that emerge in the collaborative effort will need workers to update their sites, pick up supplies, deliver finished goods, etc. But I really think we’re headed away from the corporate world, and more into an artist driven collaborative approach.

Much of this is conjecture, but I can surely see the interactive gaming entertainment industry moving away from corporate models in favor of coalitions and collaboration efforts much sooner than the rest of the world. Especially with great free tools like Blender, and the Unity Game engine… hundreds of hobbyists could come together to make a game, with one or two serious programmers to fill in the gaps and answer questions, games that people really want to play could be created quickly with minimal out of pocket costs, and a truly fair distribution of wages. Over time some of the hobbyists could turn it into a career, and the effort would grow steadily.

The timing seems right, and the market is ripe… If I want to make some money from my sites I need to keep up with them. Now what that means could be any number of things… I’m thinking of doing a 30 day blogging challenge in which I keep up with CodySortore.com every day, and then every one of my blogs on alternating days… or something to that effect. Of course it would be most effective to keep up with an entry to every one of them every day… but with real life and all in the way I might not have that kind of extreme free time.

Looking to have a clearer picture during the season of rose colored glasses? Looking to have the rose colored glasses effect in your life? How about literally? Well look no further than ZenniOptical.com they’ve got a sweet selection of Valentine’s Day glasses to show your love of the season of love to everyone around you! Forget wearing your heart on your sleeves, wear your heart on your eyes with Valentine’s Day Glasses! My wife is one of those ladies that LOVES the Holiday’s. I think it comes from being raised in a small town where they have parades for EVERYTHING and the whole town gets involved. Anyways, she’s a whole package kind of lady, she wants her whole outfit to be consistent with the holiday at hand. Got her that pair of Valentine’s Day Glasses you see up there this year to complete her outfit. When I first presented her with them she squeed and hugged me like it was Christmas. Then she told me to take them back… I was more than a little baffled but I wanted to find out why. She said she knows how expensive glasses are, and didn’t think we could afford it. Boy was she surprised when I revealed they cost less than $20!

When most people lose, break, or need a new prescription for their eyeglasses they think they only have one option. Expensive designer eyewear from a local brick and mortar eyeglasses store. The idea of cheap eyeglasses comes with the idea of low quality eyeglasses… I’ve found that to not be true though. I’ve found cheap eyeglasses online with quality that is just as good or better than the leading designer eyeglasses. The really cool thing is that same place (Zenni Optical) has a whole selection of holiday frames! Frames for Christmas, frames for New years… all sorts of great designer quality frames at discounted prices! Zenni Optical keeps their prices low by not carrying any designer frames, in fact they don’t carry any off brand frames either. They only carry their own line of frames, so you get a direct from the manufacturer price with quality that will last you a very long time!

Show off your Holiday spirit with these festive glasses! As always you get quality frames with anti-scratch lenses, at a price that you can afford to get stylish, festive, or just plain awesome holiday frames for every season

Okay, so I understand that this is my Tech news and gaming blog, but I’m running a short little experiment that may last for a couple days on vacuum cleaner reviews. So the question is does this place fair better, or rather does my vacuum cleaner reviews sites fair better when I write about vacuum cleaner reviews, or reviews in general? Or should I just stick on my Tech news and gaming topic and leave it at that? Does mingling Tech news and gaming and vacuum cleaners reviews screw with my ratings, or is it helpful, or does it do nothing? Eh, only time shall tell right? Generally speaking, whether you are talking about vacuum cleaners or Tech news and gaming the main thing that matters is the amount of work that you put into it. So after a 30 day blogging challenge where I reviewed hundreds of items, and did a lot of work getting the templates for my Tech news and gaming blog here ready for a long haul run… then never went the long haul… well it only makes sense to pop in occasionally with some Tech news and gaming news from time to time ya know? But that’s not really what today is about, for the most part today is about my vacuum cleaner comparison site that does decently well, but not as well as last year… so the goal is to regain the supremacy that I had on the vacuum cleaner rankings stuff again. So how does one do that? Well that is the question of the hour is it not? In general being so lack luster and spreading the same message over a wide birth of topics is not a great thing… but I am hoping that I can make this vacuum cleaner reviews topic long enough to make up for the indiscretions that may present themselves at times. I think that what I am missing may be much worse than just a few vacuum cleaner reviews, but rather a vacuum cleaner content lack… so we shall see. Onward and upward though, that is the Tech news and gaming way right? Or is that just the best vacuum cleaner ratings talking to me?

Since this is my Tech Review blog I guess it is appropriate that I share that my Tech Review reviews will be somewhat lacking for a while. I’ve got a whole bunch of work to do with multiple projects, including but not limited to The Bible Animated! Got a whole lotta stuff to do, but The Bible Animated is kind of priority in the matter. It is a huge undertaking with CakePHP and I’m the only one working on it, so it’s hard to find the motivation… also it’s hard to keep up with this Tech Review reviews blog when I’ve got so much to do with The Bible Animated. Anyways, we’ll be back to the Tech Review blog at some point in time, just not right this second since I’ve got several other projects to build on, also including a food site HealthyBudgetCooking.com to help people learn to do Healthy Budget Cooking

Ever since I graduated from high school, got married, and had a kid… well hard core gaming just isn’t so interesting anymore. I still like to relax after a long day of blogging with a game or two online… most games today are a little bit violent for our 2 year old child… I picked up Dungeon Defenders along with a couple of extra copies for my cousin and wife. Gaming just isn’t any good without people to play with! And since Dungeon Defenders allows you to create your own game server means you’re not reliant on the dungeon defenders game server. My octo-core 16GB RAM rendering box here works great for keeping games lag free

On this lazy Sunday I present you with an old classic. White and nerdy!

They see me mowin’
My front lawn
I know they’re all thinking
I’m so White N’ nerdy

Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Can’t you see I’m white n’ nerdy
Look at me I’m white n’ nerdy!
I wanna roll with-
The gangsters
But so far they all think
I’m too white n’ nerdy
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Really, really white n’ nerdy

First in my class here at M.I.T.
Got skills, I’m a Champion of DND
MC Escher that’s my favorite MC
Keep your 40
I’ll just have an Earl Grey tea
My rims never spin to the contrary
You’ll find they’re quite stationary
All of my action figures are cherry
Steven Hawkings in my library
My MySpace page is all totally pimped out
I got people begging for my top 8 spaces
Yo I know Pi to a thousand places
Ain’t got no grills but I still wear braces
I order all of my sandwiches with mayonnaise
I’m a whiz at minesweeper I can play for days
Once you see my sweet moves you’re gonna stay amazed,
my fingers movin’ so fast I’ll set the place ablaze
There’s no killer app I haven’t run
At Pascal, well, I’m number 1
Do vector calculus just for fun
I ain’t got a gat but I gotta soldering gun
Happy days is my favourite theme song
I can sure kick your butt in a game of ping pong
I’ll ace any trivia quiz you bring on
I’m fluent in Java Script as well as Klingon
Here’s the part I sing on

They see me roll on, my Segway!
I know in my heart they think I’m
white n’ nerdy!
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Can’t you see I’m white n’ nerdy
Look at me I’m white n’ nerdy
I’d like to roll with-
The gangsters
Although it’s apparent I’m too
White n’ nerdy
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
I’m just too white n’ nerdy
How’d I get so white n’ nerdy?

I’ve been browsing, inspectin’
X-men comics you know I collect ‘em
The pens in my pocket
I must protect ‘em
my ergonomic keyboard never leaves me bored
Shopping online for deals on some writable media
I edit Wikipedia
I memorized Holy Grail really well
I can recite it right now and have you ROTFLOL
I got a business doing websites
When my friends need some code who do they call?
I do HTML for them all
Even made a homepage for my dog!
Yo! Got myself a fanny pack
they were having a sale down at the GAP
Spend my nights with a roll of bubble wrap
POP POP! Hope no one sees me gettin’ freaky!

I’m nerdy in the extreme and whiter than sour creme
I was in AV club and Glee club and even the chess team!
Only question I ever thought was hard
Was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?
I spend every weekend
at the renaissance fair
I got my name on my under wear!

They see me strollin’
They laughin’
And rollin’ their eyes ’cause
I’m so white n’ nerdy
Just because I’m white n’ nerdy
Just because I’m white n’ nerdy
All because I’m white n’ nerdy
Holy cow I’m white n’ nerdy
I wanna bowl with-
the gangsters
but oh well it’s obvious I’m
white n’ nerdy
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Think I’m just too white n’ nerdy
I’m just too white n’ nerdy
Look at me I’m white n’ nerdy!
