haha, just upgraded to the new Wordpress 2.7 and there’s a lot about the layout that I love, things that are back to how they used to be (such as categories, and tags on the right hand side).  Of course I wait to make the switch until I am getting back into the blog realm though… should of done it two weeks ago when I wasn’t really doing anything so that I could get used to the sight of it.  It’s actually kind of odd that I’ve become so acustomed to it as much as I have… it’s just a more comfortable layout.  After less than an hour of using it I’ve got it mostly figured out.

Anyways, I’ve got to get on with writing some other stuff so I can try to make $100 in the next 3 days, and $500 before I start mid month or so with LifeTouch.

Okay, so there has been a little bit of a fiasco with my computer (as I described briefly in my previous post about WordPress 2.7) that actually turned out to be not what I expected. My motherboard that I was using had issues… it had issues from the day I bought it, only noticed like 90 days afterwards when I went to start overclocking. I never got very far with overclocking because my stock CPU voltage that should of been running at 1.250 volts was running at 1.1 volts, and it took everything the motherboard had to just get it up to 1.2 so needless to say there never was much to be done on the overclocking front with that POS motherboard. I always left it at stock speed so that it could last until I could replace the mobo… that day never came. Last week I ran into a problem though, after taking my computer apart and cleaning everything I started getting BSODs every time I turned the computer on!

Finally after three days of this I got a hint into what was causing it (I was testing different things for a while, Windows had updated, and thought it might of been a software issue, but wasn’t able to get the computer to stay on long enough to test that theory out). I started getting messages on the USB bus running at the wrong voltage… so instantly I thought it had to be the motherboard. In the process of ordering a new motherboard, I figured a small upgrade couldn’t hurt so I also got an AMD Phenom 9850 since they’re close to $150 now, combined with an AMD 790GX motherboard I figured I’d have a pretty rock solid system… except since they new 9850 runs at 1066 RAM speeds I figured I’d upgrade that too so I got 8 gigs of 1066 RAM… to find out that with four sticks installed it runs at 800 speeds anyways.

Anyways, after I installed everything the extra power consumption was causing BSODs sooner… So the next place I thought might be the problem was my PSU. Kind of a long shot since PC Power and Cooling makes good products… but I do have one of the first generation 1KW PSUs that had the single 12v rail so maybe there was an issue with that. After visiting Best Buy to grab a 700w power supply (hoping it was enough power for my energy sucking computer) it STILL had BSODs ass soon as Windows started up… I pulled my computer apart again and just started looking everything over… I mean the only thing left is the hard drives… I considered pulling my main drive and reinstalling windows on another one… kept messing with things until I finally realized that my pump wasn’t running. Saddened and disheartened that I would have to use stock cooling for a while and figure something out how to hide my water cooling system I kept messing with things until I found that one of the pins on the molex connector for my pump had pulled out. So I pushed it back in, and taped it in place.

I still made out ahead in the deal. I’ve now got 8 gigs of RAM, a sweet motherboard, and a quad core processor that pwns everything! Yeah, I know there’s stuff faster on the market but for a $400 upgrade… I must say this is a HUGE performance upgrade for me… now when I get the money I just need to move to RAID 5EE and I’ll be sitting pretty for the next few years.

Now I’ve had a lot of people searching for combat arms aimbot, or other combat arms hacks. I don’t have chamms, aimbots, or anything like that on this site as I don’t really have any need for them. But if you’re looking for Combat Arms Aimbot you can check out that link. It just might have the information you are looking for to get the edge you need.

There’s a lot of n00bs out there who can’t play games without cheats or hacks, so what the heck why not fill up the SE’s with worthless junk that makes them search longer and harder for cheats or hacks? I hate playing with people who can’t play for themselves so therefore I also like to make things a little bit harder for people to get the things that make playing no fun. By linking to something that is going to do nothing but frustrate a few people and possibly help them in giving up on hacks I in turn am doing myself a service :-D

If you suck so bad that you need aimbots, hacks, and cheats to win… well find something else to do.

Jeez… Credal got a new laptop because he’s been doing Quintiles studies and stuff… It’s awesome, got a decent video card and what not… but suckzorz for gaming! After a good 30 minutes the thing BSOD’s every time! Now that could be because of video card drivers, since Laptops have their vid card drivers made by the lappy manufacturers. But I think it’s a heat issue. That’s why I’ve never been able to move into the laptop range with my computers… I like my stuff to run cool, last long, and do what it is supposed to all the time!

Anyways, I think I’m gonna have to get Credal a laptop cooling pad for christmas or something :-P

Everybody get ready for another update! Just before the wordpress 2.7 release we have an emergency wordpress 2.6.5 release with some XSS security fixes, and two bug fixes. Version 2.6.5 has been named .5 instead of 2.6.4 because of an insecure and unofficial 2.6.4 version that made its rounds and wreaked havoc on a few peoples websites, as the hacked version gave a backdoor to hackers, spammers, and others trying spread general mayhem online.

For your official update go to wordpress.org and download your own copy. I’m sorry I don’t provide a link because of how many trick websites there are starting to be popping up all over the place. It’s important that we keep the trust in the community. So to keep you safe, just go to wordpress.org and get a clean copy of your favorite blogging platform!

So the question now is, is AMD bouncing back, or are they slipping further? AMD just announced that Fusion won’t be coming out later this year, but rather plans to launch it in 2011 when they hit 45nm for their processors… Of course this means that Fusion will be a murderous processor when it comes out as GPU technology will be far advanced by this time, and higher clock speeds on the tri-core processor will be higher. Problem with this situation is that this is just the item that AMD needs to start nailing down Intel again…

They’ve never successfully taken the market from Intel, because people are stupid, and even though they held the performance crown for years Intel still outsold them. Well now, Intel’s new i7 chip isn’t all what they had hoped it would be, so AMD can catch up performance wise again, let’s just hope it’s enough to surpass Intel, and hold that lead until Fusion comes out… because Fusion most certainly will be more powerful than anything Intel has to muster up… and it will be another three to five years before Intel copies them, and at that it will be much like the i7 in that it won’t be up to par performance wise yet. Of course Intel will just continue to throw money at it and eventually pass up AMD again, at which point AMD will have to innovate more, and Intel will have to copy more… it’s a vicious cycle… but one day AMD will surpass Intel in sales, and that day will be a good day.

Dude seriously, what is up with these people who want 300 words written for $5 or less? Honest to goodness do you believe you’re getting that kind of deal? And why 300 words? Is there some sort of magical SEO secret that the rest of the world doesn’t know about? I study marketing and SEO pretty well and I’ve never seen anything that says 300 words or more is better than say 200 words. I mean 50 gets a little bit sketchy, but it’s still adequate. So long as your links are in text you should be good! Just because you force somebody to write 300 words doesn’t mean the post is going to be good either!

200 words is usually good for a post length. I mean I may go into writing it without knowing much about it, but with 200 words I have to tell a little story of my own, then describe what is going on with the persons site and promote them. 100 words I can get away with just promoting their site… 300 words though on a subject that I don’t care about is simply too much! So you usually end up with a whole bunch of filler space that doesn’t do much of anything good, just fills in space ya know?

Erin at P3 is the biggest pain in my butt I’ve ever had! First off to start things I’ve got Kontera ads on my front page, I’ve also generally don’t display the full paid article. If I’m writing a paid article I don’t let the whole thing display on the front page… just how I do things, I’ve always done them that way, Jordan does too on moneyvsdebt.com, I do them like that on codysortore.com/blog/ it simply ensures that Google doesn’t think your blog should have it’s PR stripped… and it’s not a bad system. And it really doesn’t hurt advertisers at all. With how much I post a day an Advertiser is only on the front page of my blog for a single day anyways, if that. So their link is only on a PR3 page for a short amount of time, this simply makes it to where the advertiser gets what they’ll have in 3 months from now. Usually if you have a lot of blog entries pointing to you, your site will bounce up high in the search engines, then fall over time because the high end links aren’t on the front page any longer. This is a very normal effect. With the way I do it you don’t get that initial bounce though, you’ll move up, but in a more natural, less obviously paid for result so it is unlikely that both you, and the advertiser will get banned from Google… it helps both out in the long run. Unfortunately most of these advertisers aren’t looking at the long run.

Both of those practices are a little bit sketchy though. Since Kontera ads do display “within” a post… sort of at least. They display on the front page, but not on the post pages, so that’s kind of gray area. I’ll let that slide though. Hiding the advertisers links from the front page… well that’s a little bit misunderstood so that is understandable too. I’ll let that slide as well.

Today however, I can’t let this one slide. They’re asking me to replace my “Policies” link with the words “Disclosure Policy” like every other blog at P3… sorry, but not gonna happen. I rather enjoy having a PR3 right now, and would like to keep it that way for a short period of time. People know what a Policies page contains… they don’t know what a Disclosure Policy page contains though… Not to mention I’ve been doing this for over a month and a half on this blog, 56 posts I just counted them, and never before has this “Policies” page become a problem… but now that I fixed my other “problems” they are just looking for something else to complain about. The rules in the TOS about a disclosure policy are very clear too: “that disclosure be made in a meaningful way that makes clear to an ordinary consumer that there is a relationship between the Blogger and the Advertiser.” Er… yup, my Policies page fulfills that completely… even more so than your friggin’ “Disclosure Policy” so I don’t see the problem?
