When I first got into racing games it was to get away from playing so many FPS games… I needed an escape that got a little adrenaline rush that did not involve shooting people in the face with a desert eagle :-P It was creating a bit of a violent attitude for me. I figured racing games would be a better release… and for the most part that is correct. I actually became a more careful driver, crashing is no fun, even in a game (it also doesn’t help ya win)… so it taught me how and what to look for in others behavior to detect an accident coming up. However, now that I’ve been playing NFS: Hot Pursuit I’m running into my original problem again :-P it’s a fun game, but I don’t think it should be my main focus with racing games… a game that rewards you for crashing ain’t such a good idea for forming good driving behavior. So it’s back to Grid for me, a good game with realistic crashes :-D

Wouldn’t it be awesome if life were as easy as a video game? I mean seriously, instead of money we should just earn points! Want to eat? Oh here make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich about 100 times until you level up to being able to make yourself some chicken stir fry! Video games are always striving to be more and more realistic… I think that’s the wrong way to go, that’s digressing in my opinion… no… make life more like video games with better graphics! Last night we took Connor “Trunk-Or-Treating” at a local church… so a bunch of volunteers from the church parked their cars in the parking lot and you just walked around to each car and got candy… it was like h4x for trick or treat! There should be h4x for everything in life… well there are… and we’re continually developing them every day (Henry Ford developed the assembly line h4x) I guess what I’m trying to say is that I need to get into the business of life h4x and start developing some 1337 h4x to deploy on the world :-P

Okay, so not really “feelin’ it” today. Kinda programmed myself to have Sundays as my resting time… and I know I did the same thing last Sunday, actually didn’t post anything at all just used some pre-written content. Anyways, don’t have that luxury this time :-P

I’ve been playing NFS: Hot Pursuit (the new one) the last couple of days! Which is nice, I only got to play it an hour before when my pedals crapped out on me… then when I got some Clubsport pedals the game wasn’t working with them. I uninstalled the game, really pissed about spending $50 on it! Just reinstalled it to try it out, and it worked! Also figured with a new driver from Fanatec it was worth a try, don’t know what it was that fixed it, but it works now with the clubsport pedals, so I’m happy. It’s a good game for blowing off steam, I’ve got other racing simulator games that I like, but when I just want a crash ‘em up gimmicky arcade style game it’s awesome! If you loved the original NFS Hot Pursuit, or Cruisin USA this new Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will be right up your alley! While it’s completely playable from the keyboard, as with all racing games it’s just more fun with a wheel in your hands. Turning seems sluggish (even with 180° turning radius) and you’ve often really gotta crank on the wheel to make sharp turns… it doesn’t really matter too much because you bounce off walls anyways :-P Having some fun toys like spike strips, nitrous, and insane saves from an e-brake slide brings the arcade feel to the 21st century! While the driving isn’t terribly realistic, the gimmicks can actually make it a lot of fun, especially for some friendly competition between peeps online.

In high school what got me into gaming were two very distinct games, games that not only got me hooked, but have been quoted as forming the field of RTS gaming. Those two games were Stronghold, and Total Annihilation. I loved stronghold for the historical aspect, being able to wage battles with ancient weaponry, and well everyone knows what Total Annihilation did for the gaming industry. So far the successors to these games has not lived up to their ancestors legacy. Supreme Commander may not have been a total flop, but somehow it seemed to fall short of the legacy TA left behind. Stronghold 2 was a decent game, very buggy, very exploitable, but still fun to play. Now Stronghold 3 has come out. I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I heard it announced, I followed the developer diaries very closely, seeing things like a physics engine being added, dynamic lighting, and all those cool modern technologies coming in to play… I thought this is going to be awesome. I was a bit disappointed when they didn’t have a pre-sale… well they sold the game early, but I don’t think you can call giving away the old games and not reducing the price a “sale” I already own the old games, could we do something a little better?

Well, not to worry, I could wait until the game came out to get it. Only… when it did come out I didn’t have much urge to buy it. I sat around watching the developer videos the night before it hit the market and got very discouraged. What’s the point of including a physics engine if the animations it produces are going to look exactly like the pre-baked building destructions of SH2? What’s the point of including dynamic lighting if the textures and shadows look worse than games I bought 6 years ago?

I understand small studios don’t have the big budgets, or huge developer teams to work on these things… and I understand that there was a bit of a time crunch to launch the game on the 10th Anniversary of the original Stronghold game… I guess I just got spoiled by Company of Heroes. Especially in a game like Stronghold where the main focus is to build a castle I want army units that are smart enough to dodge big things like a stone flying at their head, I don’t want to control every unit individually, squads just makes sense a commander doesn’t tell every person under his command exactly what to do does he? Give me a game that allows me to make my own squads by grouping people together and I’ll be ecstatic! Make them smart enough to put shooting units (arrows) in the back, and stronger units up front to block, and I’ll jump with joy! Make the battles as simple as possible for the players, the economy and castle building takes up enough time as is. Also what is the point of building a castle if it doesn’t defend anything? 4 shots from a catapult and whole sections of wall drop… seriously? Are they nuclear explosive rocks? You’ve got a physics engine, make a rock take out a rock sized section of the wall! Yeah, so it’ll take a long time to cut through a wall, but isn’t that the point of a castle?

I am probably asking too much… And I don’t know that I’ll ever see these features in a castle builder game… the market probably just isn’t big enough. Even the total war series had some very quirky, pretty bad battle sequences at times, and it wasn’t even a castle builder.

Well, as you may have guessed I’m finally getting back in the game of updating and modernizing my sites. With that I finally added the game Alliance of Valiant Arms to my lan party website! It’s always good to get new games in so that I can eventually start adding hacks and cheats to the site. I’m not a big fan of people using hacks and cheats, but lets face it they’re out there, and anything I can do to make it annoying for people searching for them is good with me :-D

I just stumbled upon this awesome site that carries Video Game Swords! My wife and I are huge sword collectors (so she won’t yell at me for making purchases here) and we’ve recently started expanding our collection into the fantasy realm! So HeavenlySwords.com is a great place for us to start adding to our video game swords collection! Not only swords but they have this AWESOME shield from Legend of Zelda! (Can we say Christmas present?)

Colin McRae: Dirt 2 (known as just Dirt 2 outside of Europe) is a racing game released in September 2009, and is the sequel to Colin McRae: Dirt. This is the first game in the McRae series since his death in 2007. It was announced on 19 November 2008 and features the late Colin McRae as well as Ken Block and Travis Pastrana. The game features many new race-events, including stadium events. Along with the player, a mobile home car travels from one event to another, and serves as ‘headquarters’ for the player. It features a roster of contemporary off-road events, taking players to diverse and challenging real-world environments. The game takes place over four continents: Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. The game includes five different event types: rally, rally cross, trailblazer, land rush and raid. This World Tour sees players competing in multi-car and solo races at new locations, from canyon racing and jungle trails to city stadium-based events, and also includes a new multiplayer mode.

A demo of the game was released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace on 20 August 2009. The demo appeared for the PC on November 29 2009, it features the same content as the console demo with the addition of higher graphic settings and a benchmark tool.

Colin McRae: Dirt 2 is an official sponsor of Ken Block, Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra of the Subaru Rally USA.

Dirt 2 will be one of the earliest games to launch with DirectX 11.

I was one of the lucky people to get a free CD key for Dirt 2 buy purchasing one of the new 5000 series ATI video cards. The game will be available for download from Steam as soon as the game is launched. Get your own Dirt 2 CD Key today!

I’ve found that the best way to get a Colin McRae: Dirt 2 CD Key is through legitimate means, that way you don’t have the hassle of illegal software, or the worry of malware.

Now I do not condone people stealing in any way shape or form. But if you are looking for Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes Keygen you might be lucky enough to get the information you need from that link! I mean seriously who in their right mind is buying Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes anyways? You must either be obsessed with Star Wars, 10 years old, or just have no life to be buying Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes in the first place, then to be using Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes keygen you are just lame. Oh well be lame find your keygen :-P I prefer authentication keys anyways, sounds more official.
