People don’t often think about what their oil can do for their gas mileage. The two are seemingly unrelated, and if they are mentioned they are mentioned in an off hand manor that doesn’t add up to much, just fine tuning your mileage. I have data that says differently though. This graph is a graph of the last couple of months the gas mileage I have been getting in my 1999 Toyota Corolla.

Being that it is an automatic getting 10mpg over what the EPA rating is said to be is pretty good. But I’ve been wanting to push that number over 40mpg for a while now, I started to give up after three hard attempts at better mileage and one base line run (the first two were attempts at over 40mpg the third red bar is a base line using A/C, and driving hard, the next was yet another attempt at over 40mpg) the next runs I did were just me driving normally, nothing impressive and slowly going down hill on the graph. That is until the last bar with 39.61mpg even with normal driving (no attempt at great gas mileage, A/C usage, hard cornering and launching the car much faster than the three 38mpg runs) was shortly after an oil change. Because of an oil leak I’ve been forced to run thicker oil in my car (10W-40) and even added a thickening agent to the oil to stop the leak. This slowed the oil leak to a point that I only would lose two quarts of oil between oil changes (I’d replenish one quart and then by the time I was ready to change the oil again it would have lost another). needless to say it’s a pretty bad oil leak, and I didn’t have the money to fix said oil leak as it requires that I pull the head and rebuild it. I can’t afford even a day of down time so I must purchase a new head, and get it ready so I can do a quick swap. That’s beside the point right now though. I replaced a few of the seals around the head that I could get to without pulling it, and the oil pan seal in hopes of stopping the leak. At the same time I decided to run better oil, and definitely wanted to change the filter after watching some youtube videos on the construction of oil various oil filters I decided to go with K&N oil filters as they are the same price as the Fram filters I have been running with but unlike Fram they actually use quality materials not a paper filter, and crappy under sized drain back valve like the Fram does. I figure between the synthetic filter media in the K&N filter and now running 5W-20 synthetic oil the gas mileage has just increased that much since the motor doesn’t have to work as hard to move the oil around, or force it through a restrictive filter.

I remember when I first started selling my jewelry online. long nights of promoting my business on forums, social media, link building, and catching up on the latest SEO and SEM trends so that I could just keep up with the wave. Then my days would be filled with cutting, welding, casting, and making jewelry to be shipped out and then emailing and keeping up with customers. I was making less than $5 an hour and really didn’t feel that I could even hire someone to do the marketing for me. Needless to say as a one man operation it didn’t take long before I grew exhausted and burned out of the whole trend entirely. I had almost given up on the whole selling on the internet idea until I found a place that does small business internet marketing without costing me sleep! Well I guess that’s not entirely true, ever since I hired OrangeSoda.com to do the internet marketing for my small business I’ve been staying up late at night just trying to keep up with the sales I’ve been making with my business. Since I’m spending less time doing the nit picky marketing, and more time doing what I love (making the jewelry) I have regained my sanity. I have also started making more money than I ever dreamed of and am looking at hiring an assistant to help with the administration side of things so I can spend even more time making, and less time selling. Thanks Orange Soda I owe my sanity to your small business internet marketing skills!

If you know me you know that I’ve got my computer pretty pimped out. Being that I run an online business from home, game, and store my families precious moments on my home computer over the years it has evolved into more of a workstation computer than anything else. I run RAID 5 for speed and protection, have a very fast quad core CPU, and 8 gigs of RAM. But all of that is for nothing if I lose the years of work and information stored on my hard drives. For a long time I thought that RAID 5 was pretty impenetrable and for my uses it was… but then age started to kick in and I lost my first hard drive, shortly followed by problems with the RAID controllers cables to the drives… I nearly lost 10 years of information in moments. After that I started to use an online backup solution to keep my files, pictures, videos, websites, 3D models, and even my game high scores stored at an off site location. To me a few dollars a month is well worth the peace of mind and security of knowing that if something happens to my home computer I won’t lose my livelihood in an instance.

So I’ve been trying everything I know in order to get our car to get the best gas mileage possible. I just can’t seem to break 40mpg right now though. Of course I’m hoping to see that change here in the near future. I’ve been working on designing a new chassis and body for our 1999 Toyota Corolla. First it’s an automatic which is just sucking away power so I plan to do a conversion over to a manual transmission, which should help gain a couple more MPG from the car and push it past the 40 mark that has been so elusive. Then the extreme modifications come in. Currently the car weighs in at 3,515lbs without anyone in it, and isn’t the most aerodynamic car ever built. However I am working on a plan to reduce the weight of the car to about 2,500lbs for a nice 1k pound weight loss plan, and decrease the coefficient of drag for the vehicle drastically.

A tubular steel frame allows me to create a very strong, yet light weight frame that won’t flex under load.

A new fiberglass body allows me to make the vehicle aerodynamic yet strong.

Now the last thing I’ve been looking for that has been so elusive is cheap auto insurance. As it turns out it’s not so cheap to get a home built car insured! In fact it’s actually quite expensive. Luckily I found a great place to search for cheap auto insurance online! Which has brought my gas saving experiment along quite nicely. Of course building a car that gets the best gas mileage possible isn’t all about saving money, but it does help in the end especially when your raw materials costs are as high as they are for me right now

So after a 12 hour shift at work my wife started a load of laundry asking if I would be up to move it over to the dryer for her. Sure no problem!! Uh… except that I fell asleep and left the clothes… wet… in the washer… for 3 days… now they are moldy and stinkin’ up the place. Good thing FTD has flower delivery services!! I’m going to be in deep water when I get home, so the plan is to get rush service on some FTD flowers sent to the house to be there before the wife arrives! Just don’t tell her that I used an FTD promotion code I might be in just as much trouble as before if she knew I got flowers at an already great price with a coupon to smooth over an issue… Now to fill in the card that goes with them to her “With LOVE from your husband, just because I care.” Alright, that should smooth things over… now maybe she won’t see the laundry room before I get home

I’m not big on using ring tones for my phone… Last time I did I ended up missing 90% of the calls that came to me. I’d hear music start playing and be like “Oh yeah I like this song!!” then I’d start jamming out a little bit and by the time I realized it was a call coming in it had already gone to voice mail. So needless to say it’s safer and easier for me to just stick with standard ringers with the phone, but my wife loves ring tones. She’s on this big Katy Perry kick right now on the radio… but she hasn’t got any Katy perry ring tones yet so I figured I could surprise her with a couple Katy Perry ring tones that she could choose between. What’s that you say? Why a couple of ring tones? Oh… you think ring tones are expensive and hard to find still? You must use your phone services ring tones because I get my ringtones from Jamster.com where the selection is amazing, and the price is perfect! In fact the price is so right that I can afford to get multiple ring tones for the price that most carrier services charge for a single ring tone!

From past experience, do you know what the best part of working from home is? You can work comfortably. No stuffy work clothes, no uncomfortable shoes and no office furniture that feels like it has been designed by Lucrezia Borgia. Working from home, you could quite happily have your bed as your office chair – and there’s nothing quite as comfy as that!

For the majority of people though, working from home simply is not viable. And if you can’t allow your employees to work from home then the very least you can do, is to provide them with some comfortable office furniture. Why not spoil them a little more too? Spring for some stylish office furniture while you’re at it!

Good Office Chairs Could Be Your Best Friend

If you have a heart, when you choose office furniture, choose some decent office chairs. Some employers simply go for the flat pack, mass produced office chairs that collapse if you weigh over 10 stone and the only guarantee these kinds of office chairs come with, is a guaranteed curvature of the spine in your later years. Proper office furniture businesses such as www.officefurnitureonline.co.uk like to offer customers a range of stylish, comfortable, supportive and cheap office chairs, none of which could cause your chiropractor to cry.

We have office boards and presentation furniture. We have sofas and bookcases and decorative tables, reception furniture, filing cabinets and cupboards and office furniture for the café. In short, we have it all. If our office furniture store sold beds, you could quite easily live at work!

Offices tend to look the same the world over – clean, functional spaces that could set you off yawning just looking at them. So you could even try a few crazy ideas to jazz your office up a bit and enthuse your staff – like add a book case and a couple of comfy chairs somewhere. Or add a book case and fill it with arty objects and a few vases.

Lets face it in business your reputation is everything. A company with a bad reputation but quality products will go under faster than you can blink your eyes. Just look at DMC (Delorean Motor Company) that had one of the most revolutionary cars of their time, but because of a bad reputation from the CEO the company quickly went bankrupt. Public Relations can make or break a company, but many small businesses don’t have the means to hire in house PR representatives, which can hold disastrous consequences when larger firms launch smear campaigns. However a business that keeps their reputation in line before the bad PR comes around can hold out and keep customers. Companies like Orange Soda specialize in these business relations. Just read some of the orangesoda.com reviews to get a better picture of how they do business. Being a small business owner myself I have a large network of friends who are also small business owners. Every single one of my friends who owns their own business states that word of mouth is their biggest advertisement. Out of the hundreds of dollars spent on advertisements in newspapers and online all of them state that their reputation is what built their company. Armed with that valuable information why waste time and money on anything other than a solid reputation and the help building that reputation from the pros at OrangeSoda.com

This is a sponsored guest post written by Ania on behalf of pdf search engine. Post powered by Sponzai.

Living in the century of the technological progress we can hardly imagine a single day of our life without computer and internet… What to do, if you are tired? – to find and download some good film for relaxation. Need someone to talk to? – enter your facebook profile and spend a couple of hours talking to your friends or even people you have never met. Eager to read some good book? – no problems, download it in your favorite format and enjoy the evening reading… But as it often happens, when we want to find some book and/or tutorial, we want it all at once, but unfortunately if searched by Google without good searching skills we may not have enough time for reading, because have wasted too much time on search itself. Let’s try to find out how to simplify this process.

Together with million of different more or less useful services nowadays, there are some, which may really be of good avail. One of them will be just a lifesaver if you search for books, tutorials or some other documents in pdf format (which for many people is the most convenient). Sure thing, the search may be provided by Google, but then you will need to sift out many resources that don’t suit but are in the first pages of search results. Besides, you will need to compose your search query very attentively so that search results returned you sites with the opportunity of pdf download. If you are not that experienced in google search and would like to save your time, go straight to pdf search engines like http://www.pdfqueen.com/ . These search engines have been created with the main purpose – search for different pdf files all over the Internet so that when only you input the keyword of the document or the title of the book, you could within a second download the desired file in pdf format.

What do people usually search for in pdf format? The most frequent requests are books and tutorials. Nothing can be simpler: enter the main page of http://www.pdfqueen.com , input the title of the book you are looking for (or the author) and hit “enter” – voilà, the search results are pdf files you wanted. Choose the one and download process will start. No registration and payment required.

If you search for some tutorials, just enter the keywords in front of the button “search pdf” and choose the most relevant results as far as your query are concerned. Let’s say, you have problems operating Ubuntu and would like to read a bit on the issue, enter something like “how to use ubuntu” or just simply “ubuntu” (you may also concretize your query by adding specific terms to it) and the first search result you will get by http://www.pdfqueen.com/how-to-use-ubuntu will be “Ubuntu Server Guide». Isn’t it what you were looking for?

Similar algorithms may be used while searching for other pdf files like essays, articles, summaries, reviews etc. If, for example, you are interested in the history of Germany, enter these keywords and by http://www.pdfqueen.com/german-history you will get different documents concerning this very topic: “The Protestant Reformation in German History “, “History of Germany since 1945” or perhaps, you will be interested in “JEWS IN MODERN GERMAN HISTORY”.

As you see, search of pdf files by means of http://www.pdfqueen.com/ resembles the one of Google with one main crucial difference: this pdf search engine deals only with pdf files and search results, you will be given, will all be pdf files. What you need is just to formulate the query correctly (depending on the type of pdf file you are looking for) and choose the result that suits you the best. That’s it! It is really quickly and effectively. Bit of luck and practice in pdf search and you will never get bored while searching for the book to read at leisure.

Shopping around for car insurance has never been one of my favorite things to do. However I find it important to check around every 6 months when my insurance expires to see if anyone else could give me a better rate. Now I could drive around town wasting gas and talk to many different auto insurance agents individually to see who can cut me the best deal… but of course that is a waste of time and money. I prefer the faster method of using NetQuote.com so that I can get insurance quotes from several different companies at once. This way I’m not burning my gas, or wasting time making phone calls. I don’t even have to fill out the same forms again and again online. One form, one site, many different quotes compared and selected specifically for me!
