So most of my readers know that my wife and I have recently purchased a home, and just in time to take advantage of the tax credit available that is up to $8,000 (we will be getting the full amount)… which is nice. Even though the house we bought is very nice it has a few things about it that really are in desperate need of some updating. The kitchen has a brand new stove and fridge which my wife and I were very excited about… but the old owners failed to update a few other things like the counter tops, and the old cast iron sink. You know the ones that are big, heavy, and coated with a thin layer of ceramic that always seems to have chips in it that rust has now begun to grow from. Yeah, that’s what we’ve got, but when we get the tax credit we’ll be looking at upgrading to something a little more modern like a stainless steel sink. Most people anymore don’t even think about what a blessing stainless steel sinks can be until faced with dishes that can’t sit in the sink for more than a few hours or they’ll end up with permanent rust stains on them. Anyways thank goodness we’ll be able to upgrade to a stainless steel sink with the tax credit, and still have plenty left over for some of the other much needed renovations.
