Most people today don’t even know where to begin when it comes to finding a job. We’ve all heard that most HR representatives are beginning to feel more comfortable about hiring… but with so many people out of a job the question gets posed a lot as to how to begin that journey? How do you need to get the advantage over the competition? Most people go straight to their resume as the first thing to update… but is that what will get you noticed fastest? According to a recent poll conducted by the Gillette Resource Center 84% of HR professionals agree that well-groomed employees climb the corporate ladder faster than those who are not well-groomed. And what came as even more of a shock to me is that when it comes to first impressions, ninety percent of HR professionals place more importance on being well-groomed than even a firm handshake.

Not saying that a well tuned resume isn’t important, especially with so much competition out there right now you should really be looking into keeping every advantage you can find at your side!

I’ve often found myself writing about problems or ideas when I need to make a decision, or think I might be making the wrong decision. I’ve been looking at the Logitech G25 racing wheel for a couple of years now… I distinctly remember when it came out… finally a racing wheel with a 6 speed shifter now THAT is appealing. I know that a lot of people in the racing simulation genre love the sequential shifter because it more closely emulates what is in the cars… That is all fine and dandy, but nothing quite comes close to the feel of a 6 speed H pattern shifter. It makes me feel more like I’m doing something worthwhile as I drive, not just slapping a stick. I’m actually glad I never got the G25 since I’ve heard the shifter is sort of a limp noodle to play with, the G27 is a little firmer which is nice, if nothing else it is a good platform to start from.

Why do I say start from? Well at some point I really want to build a full on racing simulation box/chair I’ve got it planned out pretty well… and when I get bored with the G27 or wear out the shifter I have been considering taking it apart and using the electronics of it and building another shifter box with an actual short throw shifter, pneumatic shifter release (so that it only releases the stick when the clutch pedal is fully depressed), and even a hand brake mounted beside the seat.

My problem with all of this is the question “Do I really want to spend SOOO much money on the G27 just for a six speed shifter especially when I plan on building one myself later on?” So this is where my current conundrum is… I’d like to be able to play some racing simulation games with force feedback… but at what cost? I also definitely want to build my own gaming rig… not just for racing, the seat shakers I plan to mount at the feet and seat would be fun for any game, along with an adjustable bucket seat and roll cage design. I have a trick for how to build it too! Since I don’t know how to weld with metal I was going to build it out of PVC pipe and use a PVC welder to construct most of it.

When my wife was pregnant with Connor we had a hard time with Maternity Clothes not that they are hard to find by any stretch, and since she is tall she really didn’t even need Maternity capris until much later in the pregnancy. However it was very difficult to find designer maternity clothes that would keep her fashionable while going through this phase. I mean who really wants to spend tons of money on a new wardrobe that you are only going to wear for 9 months? Well why not get fashionable designer maternity clothing that you can wear all year round, and people won’t give you strange looks. That’s what I told my wife and I’m glad that we did. I don’t know about all women, but for my wife nothing makes her feel better than a large fashionable wardrobe, and there is no reason that should change just because she is pregnant. Treat your wife or girlfriend to the most fashionable maternity clothes ever. It took us some time to find good looking maternity clothes, but after much searching we were not disappointed with the outcome that we found in our maternity clothing search. Anyways, I urge you to not give up on the fashionable maternity clothes search.

One of my favorite games of all time on the computer has always been Company of Heroes (as you might be able to tell from the Xfire tag at the bottom of the page I’ve logged a few hundred hours in it) been playing since the Beta, and it really excited me when the game first came out they had a phone app! Now my addiction to CoH could be played out on the go, at work, and where ever else the mood struck! Problem was that the game was never multi-player, and lets face it 90% of the hours I’ve logged in CoH have been online multiplayer… so what is the fun of playing a game on your phone if you can’t play with others. I did recently find multiplayer iphone game platform though that has some great potential! Phones are networked and connected anyways so why aren’t more games multiplayer? It’s not like the connection and gaming process should be that hard… I find most phone games boring after a very short number of plays, but if I could play side by side with one of my friends and have a little mini battle royale well that would be pretty sweet!

After a great deal of debate and research I’ve finally picked what I think to be the best cell phone coverage for my situation. I wanted to get a 1-800 number from GrassHopper but of course that is just a call forwarding service… would be nice for my business, but I was still in need of a cell phone.
