Okay, I was reading my latest email update from ActiveRain and there was an interesting article about taking over the first page of Google. Or at least it would of been interesting if the person who wrote it wasn’t a complete n00b to the business. It was an article written by someone suggesting to one of their clients to use multiple web services to take over certain search terms in Google.
This idea is great if you just need a quick boost of traffic, or sales. It doesn’t last long though. Google’s algorithm is such that new content gets top placement in Google, and anything else slowly fades away. There are two ways to obtain top positions in Google for your search terms… either the content domination thing where you use multiple services such as ActiveRain, Mixx, Digg, Hugg, PRWeb, blogger, wordpress.com, blogcatalog, etc. The list litterally goes on forever… Since new and powerful services are added to the web every day. The problem with this as I said before is that sooner or later for even moderately popular key phrases your terms will slip off the grid.
The other way to do things is to build multiple blogs (three or so to start with) that use the “title” type of url (just check out my URL’s when you click on a page). Write multiple entries on each blog and interlink them on the same subject, but make sure to keep them updated with new content on the same subject every day. This technique is a little… okay a LOT slower, but more effective.
The third option is to combine the two. Create three blogs on similar subjects, interlink them, and create many different accounts on various other services as listed before that all link to your blogs. This will get you the quick spurt of rankings, and also the lasting ranks you need to succeed. It will also strengthen your lasting rankings greatly!
